The Voodoo Trombone Quartet were formed in 2005 by Paul Thorpe. The first album on Freshly Squeezed was a critical success and spawned classics such as “Voodoo Juju” (subsequently heard in “Ugly Betty” and “Little Big Planet”) and “Medium Wave” (the theme tune to “The Paper” on MTV).

Further releases produced more dancefloor and sync friendly tunes and the eight-piece took to the stage at Glastonbury, Bestival, The Larmer Tree, Ronnie Scotts, Cannes Lions Festival amongst others. Tracks appeared on shows such as “Being Human”, “Sport Relief Challenge”, “Don’t Tell The Bride”, “Geordie Finishing School”, John Finnemore’s Souvenir Programme (Radio 4), Nemone (6music), Eamonn Holmes (5Live), 4 Stands Up (Radio 4) and a host of others.

The latest material from the forthcoming album tones down the dancefloor action in favour of more melodic arrangements, to no lesser effect. Influences include disco, krautrock, post-rock and even a touch of 80′s jazz-funk.
